The Shore Ballet School was founded in 1972, and since its inception, it has been dedicated to the highest standards of dance instruction. We offer graded classes with individual attention in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. The school provides an enriching learning experience for the student who dances once or twice a week for the simple pleasure of it, as well as the pre-professional student aspiring to a career in dance. With the exception of our pre-ballet  levels, all ballet classes are based on the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dancing. A well known international organization, the R.A.D. is dedicated to promoting excellence in ballet training through teacher training and examinations of students in over 70 countries world-wide.

Our highly accredited, professional faculty share a commitment to young dancers. All of our ballet teachers have had extensive training in the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabi, have passed major examinations, are registered member teachers of the Academy, and have qualified to enter students for examinations.

Expert pianists, specially trained to work with the teachers, provide stimulating music for the majority of the classes. Through this accompaniment the students gain an appreciation for a wide variety of classical music.   They are also encouraged to recognize various rhythms and tempos.

The regular season of classes meets mid-September through mid-June. A student performance is held in June to give the students the opportunity to perform and show what they have learned during the school year. A six week summer school program, Dance Camp, and master class series is held in July and August. This gives the students a chance to train throughout the whole year.

Students at the Shore Ballet School have a strong tradition of taking the high quality training and professionalism instilled in them during their studies, and used it to gain acceptance to the following professional schools and dance companies:
